About
One of Zanzibar's earliest lodges, a 12-chalet property on an outcrop above a coral-fringed lagoon in Matemwe on the north-east coast, run by the Asilia Africa group.
Matemwe Lodge, run by the Asilia Africa collection, is a boutique lodge perched on an outcrop above a shallow, coral-fringed lagoon on Zanzibar's quiet northeastern coast, facing the Mnemba Atoll diving and snorkelling sites. Its twelve chalets, built from local materials, each have a private veranda with hammock and ocean views, and two chalets include a private plunge pool. The lodge is about an hour's drive from Stone Town, allowing day trips into the historic town.
