Booking terms

What a booking made through this platform is, and is not.

DRAFT — REQUIRES OWNER OR LEGAL REVIEW. This text is provided as a starting point and has not been reviewed by a lawyer.

A booking made here is an agreement between you and the operator — the tour company, the guesthouse, the owner. Zanzibar.today records it, holds the capacity and takes the payment where the operator uses the platform for payment; it is not the provider.

A booking is confirmed when the operator confirms it, not when it is requested. Until then the capacity is held for a limited period and then released, so that a seat somebody abandoned does not sit unavailable for ever.

The operator's own conditions — what is included, what to bring, what happens in bad weather — are part of the agreement and are shown on the listing.

If an operator cancels a confirmed booking, you are entitled to a full refund of what you paid through the platform. If a booking cannot proceed for reasons outside anybody's control, the cancellation policy on the listing applies.

Tell us if an operator does not honour a booking. It is one of the few things that costs an operator their place on the platform.
