A small family-run beach lodge in Nungwi on Zanzibar's north coast, converted from a private beach house built in the 1990s and opened to guests in 1996.
Sazani Beach Lodge occupies a tropical garden setting on Ras Nungwi at the northern tip of Zanzibar, reached by sandy paths leading to a secluded cove. Rooms feature four-poster beds built from reclaimed dhow wood, and the lodge centers around its Tidal Lounge, which serves a set menu with ocean views. The property also offers watersports, bicycle hire and spa treatments in a smaller, low-key alternative to Nungwi's larger beach hotels.
