Description

The Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF), also known as the Festival of the Dhow Countries, is an annual arts festival held in Zanzibar since its founding in 1997 by a non-governmental organization dedicated to developing film and other cultural industries in the region. Headquartered at Ngome Kongwe (the Old Fort) in Stone Town, it combines film screenings with discussion panels, workshops and musical concerts, and is considered one of the largest cultural events in East Africa. According to the official site, the 2026 edition (the festival's 29th season) is scheduled for 24-28 June 2026.
