Weather dependent
Pange is a remote, uninhabited sandbank roughly 30 minutes by boat from Stone Town, ringed by a live coral reef. It expands considerably at low tide, and the reef immediately around it holds a decent variety of fish for snorkeling.

It's a deliberately quieter alternative to Nakupenda. Operators running the trip, including Zanzibar Serena Hotel's own excursion, commonly build in snorkeling gear and a seafood lunch served right on the sandbank.

Because the sandbank is tide-dependent, departure times are planned around tide tables.

Highlights

  • A quieter alternative to Nakupenda
