An independent international school on Mbweni Road offering an IB-aligned curriculum, on the west coast a few kilometres south of Stone Town.
Founded in 1988 by a group of internationally diverse parents, the International School of Zanzibar (ISZ) was the island's first non-profit international school. It has grown from an initial five pupils into a school serving around 200 students representing some 37 nationalities, teaching the International Primary Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level, and the IB Diploma Programme.
