Pwani Mchangani - a name that translates roughly as 'beach of the morning sands' - lies on Unguja's northeast coast midway between Kiwengwa and Matemwe. It is one of the less crowded stretches of the northeast coast, with long, semi-empty white sand and turquoise water, and is used for snorkelling at the nearby Mnemba corals, kiteboarding, scuba diving and dolphin-watching trips; June to October is considered the best (driest) time to visit.
