Kwale Sandbank is a tide-exposed sandbank off Fumba on Zanzibar's southwest coast, reached by a short boat ride of about 15-20 minutes from Fumba beach. Its shape shifts with the tide and wind, and it is a regular resting spot for flocks of terns as well as visitors. It is a well-known stop on the popular 'Safari Blue' full-day boat excursion, which combines snorkeling around the sandbank with exploration of nearby lagoons and mangroves and a fresh seafood lunch.
