Blue Lagoon is a snorkelling site on the Michamvi peninsula on Zanzibar's southeast coast, roughly midway between Pingwe and Dongwe and close to Bwejuu and Paje. Traditional wooden boats take visitors out over shallow, clear water with healthy coral and reef fish including leaf fish, octopus, moray eels, pufferfish and scorpionfish, alongside a notably large population of starfish. Tours generally run three to four hours with local guides, making it a popular half-day trip from beach hotels along the east coast.
