About

Misali Island Beach is a Zanzibar beach associated with named beach.

Misali Island is a small, uninhabited coral island in the Pemba Channel about 10km west of Chake Chake, ringed by white-sand beaches and a reef system with more than 40 coral species and over 300 fish species. It is a protected part of the Pemba Channel Conservation Area (originally established in 1998 as the Misali Island Marine Conservation Area) and is an important nesting site for green and hawksbill sea turtles. There are no permanent buildings on the island; visitors โ€” snorkellers, divers, and beachgoers โ€” pay a conservation entry fee that funds reef protection and ranger patrols.
