Emerson Spice is a boutique hotel in a lovingly restored 19th-century merchant's house in the Kiponda quarter of Stone Town, its eleven individually furnished rooms arranged around an airy central courtyard. The hotel is best known for its rooftop Tea House restaurant, where a single nightly seating serves a multi-course seafood tasting menu against views over Stone Town's rooftops and the Indian Ocean sunset. Antique furnishings, carved doors and Zanzibari decorative details give the property a distinctly old-Stone-Town character.
