About

Kojani Island is a Zanzibar island associated with island, village.

Kojani Island (Kisiwa cha Kojani) is a small island in the Zanzibar Channel off Pemba, in Kojani ward of Wete District, covering about 7.0 sq km and measuring roughly 7.5 km by 3.3 km. It is home to around 15,000 people, most living in the historic town of Kojani, whose residents identify as Hadimu and speak Swahili. Because the island has no natural freshwater source of its own, its water supply is pumped across from mainland Pemba through a piped system.
