Karafuu Beach Resort & Spa is a large five-star property on a secluded stretch of the Michamvi peninsula near Pingwe on Zanzibar's east coast, roughly 50 minutes from the airport. Its 135 rooms span bungalows, cottages, suites and villas set in tropical gardens, and the resort runs three swimming pools, a floating restaurant, a dive centre and a spa. Tidal conditions here allow swimming even at low tide, a rarity on this coastline.
