Michamvi Kae is the western of two beaches at the northern tip of the Michamvi Peninsula on Unguja's southeast coast, near the village of Pingwe in Kati District. It faces Chwaka Bay rather than the open ocean, giving it calmer water and, combined with its west-facing orientation, particularly good sunset views; a line of low rock ridges separates it from the eastern Michamvi-Pingwe beach, and mangroves line parts of the shore.
