'Mrembo' is Swahili for a beautiful, pampered woman, and the spa's treatments combine time-honoured Zanzibari recipes with fresh, locally sourced natural ingredients. Signature treatments include the Singo wedding scrub of ylang ylang, jasmine, rose and sweet basil, the hot Mbarika castor-leaf treatment for muscle aches, a Clove Kidonge body pack from Pemba, and a seaweed and sea-salt scrub. The attached shop sells local handicrafts, fashion and the spa's own beauty products, and it runs workshops on using local flowers, herbs and spices.
